  Noelle gave a watery laugh and happy tears fell to her cheeks. “I’m sorry, ma’am, but he’s mine. Yes I’ll marry you.”

  He got to his feet and pulled her into his arms. “Let’s seal it with a kiss.”

  With a flourish, he dipped her low and pressed his lips to hers. The lone clapping of the woman who watched his proposal filled the air but they didn’t pay it any attention. In that space and time they were the only people in the world, in each other’s arms, under a starlit Georgia sky.
